Overview
WDU is a web server unit that distributes rich, customized graphics to any HTML5-supporting device. The WDU device allows any EmpirBus system to be controlled and monitored by a user interface that’s fully optimized for its purpose and supported by our GPSMAP touchscreen MFD helm displays. HTML5 pages and apps can be graphically configured without limitations and can work seamlessly with the EmpirBus software.
The WDU device, operating via an NMEA 2000 network, works at Ethernet speeds (GMN circular connector) for HTML5 distribution. It also offers optional connectivity for wireless links via Wi-Fi technology. This adds the possibility of using compatible smartphones and tablets as control devices for the EmpirBus switching system.
