WHAT YOU’LL LOVEENGINEERED FOR BIG SOUND FROM A SMALL ENCLOSUREIn keeping with its “tight spaces” mission, this 13.5-inch speaker is optimized for enclosures that are far smaller than what most 12-inch woofers would require. In fact, its airspace needs are only slightly larger than those of a typical small-box 10-inch woofer.
HUGE 7-INCH DIAMETER VOICE COILThe TW5v2 speaker’s patented concentric tube structure supports a big 7-inch diameter voice coil for optimum power handling, stability and control in a space-saving frame configuration.

SPACE-SAVING FRAME DESIGNBenefiting from years of JL Audio woofer design experience, the robust TW5v2 speakers feature purpose-engineered cast-alloy frames that have been modified for even greater strength. A space-saving tab-ear frame design allows the 13.5-inch TW5v2 to fit in about the same footprint as a conventional 12-inch woofer.

AUDIO TECHNOLOGIESCONCENTRIC TUBE SUSPENSION TECHNOLOGYThe TW5v2 speakers feature a patented concentric tube structure built into the injection-molded speaker cone body. This structure supports the voice coil and a full annular spider while permitting the placement of a large motor structure farther forward in the speaker than with conventional designs.
FCAM TECHNOLOGYThis “floating cone attach method” of bonding the surround/cone assembly to the voice coil former/spider structure ensures proper surround geometry in the assembled speaker for better excursion control and dynamic voice coil alignment.

Port enclosure specifications are not recommended.
The enclosure recommendations listed above are external dimensions which assume the use of 0.75 in (19 mm) thick material. If you are using 0.625 in (16 mm) thick material, subtract 0.25 in (6.5 mm) from each dimension. Do not use any material with a thickness of less than 0.625 in (16 mm) as this may compromise the rigidity of the enclosure.
All enclosure volumes listed above are net internal volumes! Driver displacement, port displacement and brace displacement must be added to obtain the final gross internal volume. All enclosure dimensions above have already taken this into account.
When using multiples in a common enclosure you will need to recalculate the enclosure and port dimensions. For assistance please contact your authorized JL Audio dealer or JL Audio Technical Support.
We recommend the use of this in a bi-amplified system using high-quality satellites and a high-quality amplifier. We do not recommend the use of this with a passive crossover (coil), as this type of device will adversely affect performance.
